Here's what makes Monroeville Direct Primary Care different:

  • As your dedicated family physician, I am committed to building a strong, lasting relationship with you. You won't be shuffled between different providers or staff members; it's just you and me, working together for your health. This continuity of care fosters a deeper understanding of your health history and goals.

  • I am proud to offer compassionate and comprehensive gender-affirming care for both children and adults. This is a significant focus of my practice, and I am dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

  • My practice is committed to a weight-inclusive approach to medicine. I focus on providing evidence-based medical care for everyone, without pathologizing body weight or size. My goal is to support your health and well-being regardless of your weight.

  • Forget long waits for appointments and frustrating phone trees. Members benefit from:

    • Prompt Appointments: Often same-day or next-business-day availability for your needs.

    • Direct Messaging: Communicate directly with me for questions, concerns, and follow-ups, with responses typically by the next business day.

  • I believe in upfront and clear costs, which is why our pricing is simple: you pay a one-time enrollment fee and then a monthly membership that covers all your visits with me.

I do not bill insurance for my services. You can still use your health insurance for external services like imaging studies, specialist visits, medications at area pharmacies, and labs if you prefer.

I am unable to accept Medicare enrollees at this time.

About Dr. Johnson

I am a family medicine physician based in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, with a passion for helping people from all walks of life. After earning my medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, I completed a Family Medicine residency at the University of Virginia. For a decade, I dedicated myself to shaping the next generation of doctors as a residency faculty member, first at UVA and later at Forbes Family Medicine. Now, I am about to take an exciting step into the world of direct primary care!

My approach to medicine is both broad and inclusive—I am committed to providing care that encompasses everything from general family medicine to refugee and immigrant care, as well as gender-affirming care. I am passionate about teaching, especially in the areas of evidence-based medicine and advocating for health equity.

Above all, I believe that everyone deserves high-quality, compassionate care that is guided by the best evidence. My goal is to tailor every treatment plan to fit the unique needs of each patient. There’s no greater satisfaction for me than seeing a patient leave the office feeling truly seen and heard.
